I NEED YOUR HELP! WHAT/HOW MANY ANTENNAS WILL WORK BEST?

Postby p-rizzle on Fri Aug 28, 2009 9:25 pm

My information.

Zip Code: 45069
My location: Very Flat area with slim line of trees, some tall, behind my house. Wooded area a few hundred yards away. Not buildings 2 stories located within a few blocks... or miles. Large hill North of my home not in the direction of the towers I would be using.

Televisions: 1 Panasonic 42"1080p HD Plasma (ATSC tuner is ATSC/QAM/NTSC)
1 Samsung 26" 756p HD LCD (ATSC and NTSC)
1 40-46" 2009 HD TV to be named later

Digital

Tower Locations: all towers are between 191 and 200 degrees from my house.
Tower Distances: all towers are within 17 miles from my house.

Channels: mixture of UHF and VHF

Here is my issue: When I zero in around my location, every channel I will need shows up as YELLOW with the exception of FOX (showing up as RED). By clicking around within 100 yards, I get all YELLOW including FOX. I actually think that is closer to my location, but I'm not 100% sure as my exact address doesn't show as having a street (new development). So what do I do? I was thinking about buy the Winegard MS and placing it on the roof. Or should I get a directional antenna, point it in the middle, and throw it in the attic? If I did this, would I be able to tell a difference between indoors and outdoors? Since I will be running it to 3 tvs should I buy more than one? Should I use an Amp. Let me know what you think. I greatly appreciate all of your help.

Thanks,
P

All of the Cincy stations, including WXIX, the FOX station, lie in the same direction from your house. Mount a small VHF-high-band plus UHF antenna on the roof, and point it south. I would use a Winegard HD-7694P or an AntennaCraft HBU-33. Use a Channel Master CM 3414 mounted in your attic or elsewhere in a central location to split the signal to as many as 4 TV sets in your house. You'll see everything clearly and without dropouts if oyu follow this advice. Add a Channel Master 9521a rotator if you want to see the Dayton stations, as well...
