Need some advice for antenna Republic MO

Postby fireguy1717 on Tue Aug 30, 2011 9:35 pm

My name is Ryan and i just bought my first place about 3 weeks ago. I am currently using an older tv that requires a digital converter box to display channels. Right now i am using a cheap indoor antenna from walmart and although it does the job, a few channels are hit and miss when they do come through.

Here is the TV fool report: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapp ... 1d6dd249d9

I have been looking at a LAVA antenna that i saw on ebay but i am not so sure about the quality after reading reviews.

Any help would be helpful

Thanks

Congratulations on the new house! Now, forget about that LAVA piece of excrement, and get a decent antenna, and you'll be just fine. All of the Springfield-Branson stations are moderately strong where you are, and lie in pretty much the same direction, so you shouldn't need a rotator. I would suggest using a Winegard HD-7694P VHF-high-band plus UHF antenna mounted on your roof (or chimney) aimed at roughly 60 degrees, as measured by your compass. Your reception will become completely stable and you should see several more stations than you currently see with your rabbit ears. The Winegard is very rugged, and compact, and when you are ready to take the plunge for that new HDTV, you'll be all set to get picture-perfect reception: I am attaching a link to the antenna, and an installation guide to help you. Good Luck!
