I live in a rural area, where we have lots of tall trees aorund our house (some over 100') tall. We are in need of a good outdoor antenna, I would likely mount it on a pole attached either to our chimney or eaves on the back of our house. It would only be attached to one television, an LG 42" model from 2009 with a built in digital tuner. would love recommendations on what are my best options for antenna, amp, and even mounting options. I know nothing other than I really want my local channels back after cutting cable and going to ROKU. Especially in time for the SUPER BOWL! So time is of the essence here.

Thank you in advance.

You have the choice of the Norfolk or Richmond stations in your area: a fringe-area antenna installed on your roof, along with an antenna rotator will allow you to see both cities' stations. I would consider a Winegard HD-7697P mounted as high above your roof as is practical, along with a Channel Master 9521a rotator to turn the antenna. You could add a preamplifier if you like, but you shouldn't need it if you install the equipment properly. You should use high-quality RG-6u coax cable, and follow the instructions included in this link below: you'll get back all that you lost when abandoning cable plus some extra broadcast stations.
