Here are 2 versions:

Here we go:

You are right. This one (link below) doesn't keep the information. If the above one does not give you enough information, just type in the postal code (H1R2W1) and city (Montreal) at the below link
http://www.tvfool.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=90

Also, I'm seeing these small compact antennas that claim to be good for a 150 mile range and get good reviews at the site they sell. Are they any good?
"LAVA HD2605 Motorized Outdoor HDTV UHF/VHF Antenna"
"LAVA HD2805 Amplified Outdoor HDTV UHF/VHF Antenna"

I'm sure that larger is better for most setups that require 85 mile range but if the above works .... oh, and are they any good for Montreal winters! They seem a bit fragile on the pictures.

You will never find me recommending those lava antennas: they are cheap Chinese-made junk, and they wouldn't last a week in a Montreal winter. You are going to need a good VHF-high-band plus UHF antenna system mounted on your roof if you want reception of the Mt. Mansfield stations from VT. The Montreal stations will be pretty easy, as you appear to be fairly close to MT Royal, where the Montreal transmitters are located. I would do a 2- antenna system consisting of a Winegard YA-1713 VHF high-band yagi aimed at Mt Mansfield for WVNY, the ABC stations from VT. Mount an 8 Bay UHF antenna like a Winegard HD-8800 on the same mast 4' above the VHF yagi. I would aim the antennas at Mt. Mansfield, which is 166 degrees as measured by your compass. Use a Pico-Macom UVSJ or equivalent to combine the signals from the two antennas. Unless you plan to run more than 2 TV sets from the antenna system, you should not need a preamplifier. if you plan to run more than 2 TV sets, I suggest using a distribution amplifier like a Channel Master CM3414 to get enough signal to all of your TV sets.

The Montreal stations are strong enough in your area that you do not need to aim the antenna system exactly in order to see those stations, but, because of the weaker signals coming from the Vermont stations, exact aiming will be necessary to insure reliable reception of those stations: Here are some links to the equipment:

Thanks TigerBangs,

Questions:

Q1) One of your links has a Model HBU22 High Band VHF and UHF Antenna

but you mention the Winegard-YA-1713 in which I don't see a link. Even the design of the antenna appears to be different. Do they both do the trick? Please explain.

Here is a link that I found to the Winegard-YA-1713:

http://www.hdtvantennalabs.com/antennas ... -1713.html

Q2) The Winegard-YA-1713 spec states a range of 25 miles. I just want to be sure this can hit those 83 miles away towers. Yes?

Q3) Similarly, there was one place that had the Winegard_HD8800 at a 60 mile range. I just want to be sure this can hit those 83 miles away towers. Yes?

Q4) I have electrical lines from Hydro that pass along my back yard. Do you think that will affect anything? Does that affect the equipment that you suggested?

The HBU-22 link was a mistake, sorry about that. Please don't trust the manufacturer's mileage ratings as a guide to selecting an antenna. Burlington stations are unique in that they have a transmitting altitude of 4,000 feet, and cover much greater range than traditional stations do. People have been watching the Burlington stations in Montreal for years without much trouble, and you won't have much trouble seeing both the Montreal and the Burlington stations using the antennas that I have recommended. Good Luck.
