lost channels

Postby tina on Thu Oct 29, 2009 6:20 pm

I reside in the 14777 area code of Rushford NY

Latitude = 42.3832, Longitude = -78.2235
Lat = 42 degrees, 23.0 minutes North
Long = 78 degrees, 13.4 minutes West

I had been receiving Buffalo and Rochester stations before the digital switch. After I was only able to pull in CBS ch4
WIVB. However in the last few weeks I can no longer pull even that station consistently.

We are about an elevation of 1500 ft with undulating hills around us.

With a new antenna can I pick up additional channels or should I just get an amplifier with the old antenna?

thanks
tina

I have been using a regular antenna, roof mounted sorry don't know the name of it. Mounted at about 20 ft height.

My signal strength registers @ 72 and then goes to zero.

thanks

I need more information to help you: Take a picture of your antenna and send it along, tell me if you have a rotator, tell me if you have a preamplifer and what king of lead-in cable you have; coaxial cable or flat twin-lead cable. Tell me how many TV sets you run from the from the antenna. Tell me which stations you were used to getting that you are not getting now.
