powerdog,

You said,
"Since I get very good reception now, does it make any sense to upgrade?"

There's an old saying: "If it's not broke, don't fix it" ! :D

If you're getting good clear reception on the channels you want to watch, then NO.

I've had an old VU-90-XR that I bought back in the early 80"s from RShack, i think that AntennaCraft makes those.
And in thinking of what i can do to get ready for the changover to Digital, i thought how nice it would be to have
one of those nice big UHF Yagis up there. But, it wouldn't do "too" much more, than what i got now.

there's only so far i can "see" with it given the terrain and all, and having a new Antenna would only help my ego, and
probably have a very negative impact on my pocket book.

So, I'm going to leave well enough alone. It's going to be expensive enough to start replacing my stuff with ATSC,
and being able to do scheduled recordings, is a lot more important than ego.

Hope you make the right choice.

Have a good Day ! :)

PS: I still don't know what kind of antenna that is, oh well !

That antenna is a European design: it looks like a Funke PDP-1929, but a number of manufacturers make such a design.
