Inside or Out

Postby Registration on Wed Feb 25, 2009 5:16 am

Zip 44024 Ohio I currently use a Terk tv55 in the attic. It has been ok. I live in the snow belt so i don't mind some snow on my TV :D .. However now that I have a converter box connected some channels are great and some don't come in at all.

I guess I need to upgrade and I would like to stay with an attic antenna with a small footprint. Is there one on the same line as the Terk that will give me the reception I need? Could I mount the Terk outside and use a better amp?

I don't want the big directional antenna.

Using the Winegard site and inputing my address they suggested a GS2200. Does this seem like a good choice?

I am going to be doing this myself and only want to do it once!

Thanks , Mike

WKYC-DT is currently on channel 2, but is moving to channel 17 in June. You will still have 2 VHF digital stations after June 12 in your area: WJW-DT on channel 8 and WOIO-DT on channel 10. Neither channel will come in decently with a Wnegard SS-2200 installed in your attic. You have stations available to you from Youngstown, as well, if you were willing to install a decent antenna, but that will require installing a REAL antenna outdoors with a rotator. If you want REAL Digital TV reception, let me know, and I will lay out a stsyem for you, but I absolutely won't half-ass it because you are willing to go only half-way...
