Hooking up multiple sets to an antenna

Postby guestpilot on Wed Mar 11, 2009 7:56 am

Hello from Missouri: We just dropped our satellite service and are using a rooftop antenna purchased from Walmart. (RCA with digital and analog reception) We want to hook up 3 televisions, a projector tv, and a stereo. We've hooked up one tv and enjoy the digital channels alot and get great reception. What do we need to hook up our other equipment without losing our great reception? Thanks

You will need a distribution amplifier and splitter to send the signals to the various TV sets. I have used the Winegard HDA-200 successfully for up to 4 sets. Run the signal in from the roof antenna into the amplifier, which needs to have AC power available to it, and run the output of the amplifier to a high-quality 4 way 1 gHz or better coaxial splitter. This arrangement will preserve your TV and FM reception when you distribute to all of the sets.
