Postby rusty on Tue Aug 30, 2011 10:21 am

I live in oak grove, ky
http://www.hdtvantennalabs.com/location/KY/oak+grove/
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapp ... 87702cd8c6

i currently use
Philips SDV2940/27 UHF Digital and Analog Indoor/Outdoor TV Antenna (from walmart ug)

i am thinking of purchasing a wingard hd 8800 with a rotor and amp
do you think this will do alright for me.

I currently receive 2 nashville stations (2,17) and couple of low power locals
have trouble because all networks stations seem to be 50 miles from me
in more than one direction.

My budget is no more than $300.00

any suggestions????????????????

i hate to order all the stuff and do all the work
setting up and i get no better reception than my walmart special.

help

I am a bit confused, as you say that your location is Oak Grove Kentucky, but you have posted a TVFool.com report from Oak Grove, Kansas. We may need you to repost using the correct city and TVFool.com report in order to help you.

Thanks for the updated info: now it all makes some sense...LOL. The Phillips antenna is useful for UHF-only stations 25 miles or less from your location, but it won't do much for greater distances or VHF channels, and you have a VHF on channels 8 (PBS) and 10 (NBC) You really need a VHF-high-band plus UHF antenna mounted on your roof, aimed at roughly 135 degrees, by your compass. I would suggest a Winegard HD-7697P or an AntennaCraft HBU-44 for an antenna, and you might consider adding a Winegard HDP-269 high-input preamplifier, especially if you have long cable lengths (greater than 75 feet0 or if you plan to run 2-4 TV sets from the single antenna. With such an antenna system, you should have no trouble seeing all of the Nashville stations perfectly.
