HDTV reception

I am able to view several local television stations that broadcast in HD format using a standard VHF UHF antennae routed through an HD converter. However, when I connected the antennae cable to my recently purchased Sony Bravia LCD HDTV, I am unable to receive these channels. We are only able to receive 2 Spanish channels. Any idea why the antennae works on the old television and not on the new one? We've contacted Sony and have done everything they suggested (Auto programming, checked cable connection, etc.) with no success.

Probably because you didn't read the owner's manual for the TV.

1) Switch the TV off "cable" to whatever it uses for "antenna"
2) Perform a scan or auto-program in accordance with the instructions in the manual.

Factory default for a new TV is always "cable".
