[?] Getting CNTower & Buffalo channels with Directional Roof

Postby .me on Mon Oct 20, 2008 2:18 am

Good day people!
Probably a simple question:
Living on 29th floor on younge and eglinton, would it be possible to get channels from both CN Tower and Buffalo if I would point the antenna to 164° as by antennaweb

I made a straight line from where I live (140 Erskine Ave) (43.71, -79.39) to Buffalo's tower (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=N+43%C2%B0+1%27+48%22,+W+78%C2%B0+55%27+15%22+&ie=UTF8&ll=43.029628,-78.919902&spn=0.001972,0.004828&t=h&z=18&iwloc=addr)
(N 43° 1' 48", W 78° 55' 15")
using a simple google maps ruler http://koti.mbnet.fi/ojalesa/exam/ruler.html

The distance between straight line from my house to Buffalo's station and CN Tower is 3KM (2 miles)

Would it work or the direction of the antenna would be too narrow?

Thanks for your help!
Andrew

TVFool.com is a much more useful tool in determing potential TV reception that AntennaWeb.org is, especially if you have the coordinates handy, as you seem to have. The Buffalo TV stations appear to be an easy pull from your location, as slong as you are on the south-facing portion of the building. If you are orterwise, you are likely to have some problems getting them. If you have the ability to get an atnenna on the roof, then your location in the building won't matter. You can use a small UHF-only antenna like an AntennasDirect DB-2 indoors with success if you are facing south. The Toronto stations will come in no matter which way you aim the antenna.
