Fringe Antenna Help, Please

Postby carmello on Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:52 am

I live in zip code 93001. I am over 60 miles from the LA transmitters. I just bought a medium directional antenna and attached outside on the second floor of my house and I get nothing. It is really weird because I used to live about 5 miles closer to LA and got all the digital stations with rabbit ears. I thought by only moving 5 miles further away I would not have much trouble. Does anyone have any suggestions. I do live in an area with lots of trees and two story homes. My antenna is not on the roof. Would it help to put the antenna higher or what. Thanks for your help.

Based on a TVFool.com scan of your zip code, things don't look at all promising.. Cn you provide either your street address or coordinates so I can zero-in on your location to see if you might have better luck?

Here are my coordinates. I have a huge directional antenna on a pole. I only get a couple channels. It is really weird because I only lived about three miles closer to LA before and I was able to use rabbit ears. I am thinking it is the geopgraphy in the area. Would a pre amp help?
