A few roadblocks getting the right antenna

Postby kvfelton on Wed May 18, 2011 5:14 pm

Greetings,

I live a little over 21 miles from Austin, TX (in Kyle) and am interested in installing an antenna to get digital TV stations through my home entertainment center. (TV Fool results: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapp ... b15428e950). When I entered my information at http://www.hdantennalabs.com, they recommended the Winegard HD7698P antenna. The problem is that it exceeds the 1 meter limit of my homeowner’s association restrictions. I thought about installing this in my attic, as TV Fool doesn’t seem to think that the Austin channels are as much of a problem, but the builder lined the inside of my roof with reflective metallic Mylar foam board to reflect the heat. Will this cancel out any advantages of installing the antenna in the attic? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
