Update...I have the antenna set up in the attic and the cable runs to the basement where it is split to 4 TV's. Despite splitting 4 ways and the length of the cable to tv, the signal strength is still very strong on all channels without any pre-amp. Also, because my coax antenna-in on my 50 inch hdtv was broken off and couldnt be fixed, I got a PC tv tuner card so I have the antenna going into the pc tuner card and then configured windows media center to pick up the channels. Windows Media Center also acts as a DVR so I can still record all the tv I want. Luckily, the pc is close to the tv and is connected to the hdtv via a dvi to hdmi connector so the picture is awesome. I cant believe the picture is so good with those antennas! I'm calling Time Warner to cancel cable this Tuesday!

I am so glad to hear that: I have used that formula before in the Portland area with good success, and am glad that it worked so well for you!

Cable has been cancelled and not missing it one bit! I've been telling everyone about the hd antenna solution and advising they visit your site. Also, for anyone interested, I've kept track of everything I had to purchase to get it all up and running including how I used my pc to tune the channels and output to my hdtv.
