Does OTA Work at 45640

Postby Ramcat on Fri Sep 25, 2009 2:17 pm

What suggestions do you have for a tv antenna for zip 45640? This antenna would be hooked to 42" Go Video HDTV only. It would be located about 60 yards from nearest woods at 39.035053N and 82.663708W on the old pole that is already there about 30' up. I'm not even sure of what is available using TV Fool. It shows 1 edge and 2 edge. Is this some type of antenna needed?

You should be able to get the Huntington stations from your location, but the signals are blocked by mountains, so the signals will be weak. I recommend my deep-fringe prescription: a Winegard YA-1713 VHF-high-band yagi plus an AntennaasDirect XG-91 UHF antenna, combnined on the saam mast with the XG-91 mounted about 4' above the YA-1713. Use a Channel Master Titan 7777 preamplifier to combine the two antennas together. Aim the aintenna array at 150 degrees. I also recommend that you tilt the XG-91 nose UP about 15-20 degrees to take advantage of the refraction evffect of signals coming off the tops of the mountains.
