Distribution amp from cable/now for ant signal?

Postby smp375 on Sun Mar 20, 2011 8:28 pm

Hey folks, I'm going to be setting my ex's house up with an antenna pretty soon. She is giving Time-Warner Cable the boot and switching to over-the-air broadcast as her sole broadcast input. My question is about using the distribution amp that the cable company left in her house; my goal is to simply disconnect her cable line on the side of the house, and connect the antenna to the line going into the house, leaving intact the entire coax network running to her four televisions. Is there any reason the distribution amp for the digital cable feed won't work with the digital over the air feed? Thanks!

Never mind, I answered my own question with a little more research. It appears to me there is no difference in distribution amplifiers for cable and uhf/vhf.
