Dallas 75252, Is WINEGARD HD-1080 good for me?

Postby dfworders on Fri Nov 06, 2009 5:26 pm

Hi all,

Currently using rabbit ears for DTV. Now looking at Winegard HD-1080 to see if it's suitable.
Zipcode 75252, North Dallas TX.

On my rabbit ear I can hardly receive Channel 8.1 (ABC).

Will this improve 8.1?

The link above said this is VHF/UHF Antenna (channels 7 - 69). Will I lose Channel 4.1 (Fox) if I install that?

Also, I'm only connecting to 1 TV, will I need pre-amp?

Any suggestions to antenna less than $40?

Thanks!

No, the HD-1080 is an awful antenna: spend the extra $20.00 and get yourself a Winegard HD-7694P instead, and aim it SSW of your location. You won't need a preamplifier. FOX 4 actually broadcasts on channel 35, so oyu don't need any other antenna.
