Combiner or Not

Postby Barrenriver on Fri Dec 25, 2009 8:45 am

Latitude: 36.893612 / Longitude: -86.036532 is my home coordinates, can I stack two antennas, and use a combiner and get reception from both Louisville and Nashville? Or do I just settle for Nashville and what is the best set up for either.

Current antenna is chimney mount and needs replacing and I am considering installing a 30' tower.

I also have a friend at Latitude: 38.068319 / Longitude: -85.580252 that is building a new home in a restricted subdivison, what small antenna would you reccomend for this install

Thanks in advance

Louisville doesn't appear to be an option for you, based on the TVFool.com report that I pulled based on the coordinates that you gave me. If you want Nashville, you will need a deep-fringe all-channel antenna with a high-input preamplifier. I would look at the Channel Master Crossfire 3671 or the Winegard HD-8200u and a Winegard HDP-269 preamplifier. Since you are close to Bowling Green, KY, I would also use a rotator like a Channel master 9521a, which will allow you to aim in a number of different directions, including Nashville and Bowling Green.

I know sometimes I am able to get Louisville channels off the backside of the antenna, I guess the weather conditions have to be just right, so I thought that by stacking two in different directions I might be able to pull them in, however if I had the rotor, guess it will serve the purpose....

Now if I could just find some could used tower

Thanks in advance....
