what outdoor antenna and amp do you think will work
my bugjet is about $300
my current channel master 2016 and cheap rca amp only
receives chann. 2,17,30,50 at 45% power
also clarksville has a lot of tall trees

You should be doing much better than what you have told us based on your TVFool.com. I know that WTVF now has a transmitter on channel 25, so you should be able to see it without having to use a low-band VHF antenna. I have a feeling that your amplifier may be making things worse for you. You should trace your coax cable back to the antenna, you should probably replace the matching transformer at the antenna, and replace the RCA amplifier with a Winegard HDP-269 preamplifier, which would shore up your TV signals. Be sure that your antenna is aimed properly: you'd be surprised how many people aim their antenna with the VHF end of the antenna aimed towards the transmitters rather than the UHF end. Good luck.
