The problem appears to be that you have TV stations that are coming from a number of different directions: some are very close, and some are as far as 40 miles away. Unfortunately, no one antenna position is going to give you reliable reception on all channels. If it was up to me to so;ve this problem, I would pick up a decent UHF-VHF-high-band antenna and a rotator, and mount the whole business on the roof. Good choices include the Winegard HD7694 or you can also use a Channel Master 4228 when mounted on a rotator like a Channel Master 9521a. There is really no need to use a preamplifier where you are, but aiming the antenna is essential to getting glitch-free reception.

The antenna that I have suggested is not that large: only 5' long: barely longer than a U-75. but will pick up VHF high-band, which the U-75 won't do. You STILL need a a rotator to make everything work! Preamplifiers help in fringe areas, but your signals aren't that weak: you need a good antenna and the ability to aim it!
