While it is technincally possible to use an outdoor antenna indoors, practically speaking, it usually isn't an option. While many people mount antenna in attics and crawl-spaces, where the antennas are out of the way, most TV antenna, especially VHF models, are simply too big to be used indoors without severely compromising your living space. Certain outdoor antenna, like the UHF-only AntennasDirect DB-2 have been used successfully indoors, as their size doesn't overpower a room, but VHF models will almost always require more space than a homeowner is willing to dedicate to an antenna.
