I've decided that I don't want to pay monthly cable fees and opted for a HD antenna. I moved into a studio apartment on the 2nd floor and have read good things about the Mohu leaf. Before doing so, I looked up this website:
http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/maps/
and it suggests that I should be able to get all the UHF channels including FOX 11-1 (listed as Hi-V for some reason-- I thought all channels 13 and under are UHF?) all with good reception. However, after getting the antenna,I've found that I don't get FOX (11-1) or KCOP (13-1, also Hi-V). When I search under "DTV" or "CADTV" channel types on my TV for 11-1, it says no signal. When I change the channel type to "TV", I get the snow static. I get CBS 2, NBC 4, KTLA 5, ABC 7, KCAL 9 all with great reception and clarity. Am I doing something wrong here? Based on the FCC website above, it appears that the FOX tower is only 8.7 miles away from my address, and only 0.2 miles away from all the other towers (CBS, ABC, KCAL, etc.). Why do I get all the other channels but not FOX?
