newbie here...

most likely a stupid question but here goes...

i recently purchased a house with directv antenna hooked up. I'm looking for OTA digital channels (ATSC) and was curious if there was any way i could use this antenna for this purpose...

No, a dish of that type cannot be used as an OTA antenna, however, you may be able to repurpose the cabling if you choose to install a new antenna.
