Best indoor/attic HD antenna for ZIP 83686 ??

Postby wingnut144 on Sun Apr 05, 2009 10:17 am

I am looking for recommendations on the best indoor HD antenna I can get. I have purchased a new house, and would like to put this antenna in the attic (which has a power outlet, so I can have a powered antenna up there).

I just need to know what would work the best in this situation. I have a pretty clear line of sight to the towers.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The signals are very strong in your location. I would suggest using a Winegard HD 7694p mounted in the attic aimed by compass at 40 degrees. I suggest getting a small amplifier like a Winegard HDA-100 to boost the signal enough to split to 3-4 TV sets, and mount a high-quality 1 gHz or better splitter in the line AFTER the amplifier (before the amplifier in the line) When mounting in an attic, avoid mounting the antenna near HVAC equipment and foil-backed insulation.

You would recommend that antenna even though it is mainly a outdoor antenna and not designed to be installed inside???

it's better than any antenna designed for indoor use....it will function just fine indoors and will last for many years in the attic.
