Best Antenna for rural middle GA--31076 Reynolds

Postby buddyc on Fri Aug 12, 2011 10:25 am

I am looking for the best VHF/UHF antenna for my area. I am in Reynolds GA, zip 31076 approximately halfway between network station in Macon and Columbus GA. Any guidance and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

If you want to avoid using a rotator, you will need a 2-antenna system, with a separate wire coming from each antenna into a 2-way splitter, then one side of each splitter running into a 2-way A/B RV switch mounted at each TV. This system will allow you to switch independently between the two antennas at each TV set. As for antennas, I would recommend using 2 Winegard HD-7697P antennas, one aimed at 248 degrees for Columbus, and one aimed at 65 degrees for Macon. You can mount the two antennas on the same mast, but be sure to separate them by at least 4 1/2' vertically on the mast. You may want to consider using a preamplifier on each antenna, in which case, the inexpensive Winegard HDP-269 mounted at each antenna would be a good choice.

Thanks for the advice. And if I wanted to use a rotor and only use one antenna which one would you recommend....the same one?
Thanks again!
