best antenna for mason oh

Postby reussed on Tue Sep 13, 2011 9:34 am

I have looked at many of the antennas listed on different websites and become confused. I would like to install an hd antenna in my attic or outside. Preferably the attic if it would be as good. What would be the best setup for mason, oh 45040. I would have 2 tv's to connect

Mason has plenty of over-the -air TV available to you: both Cincinnati and Dayton are easy to get at your location. Since WKRC is on VHF channel 12, and it is the only VHF station in your area, I suggest using a bi-directional UHF antenna like an AntennaCraft U4000 4-bay antenna, aimed north and south combined with an AntennaCraft Y-5-7-13 VHF high-band yagi aimed south of your location. Combine the two antennas using a UVSJ VHF-UHF antenna joiner ( available from Solid Signal). Run RG-6u coaxial cable to a central location in your house, then use a small distribution amplifier like a Channel Master CM3412 to divide the signal to the two TV sets. In order for this system to be effective, you will need mount the antenna system outdoors, as high as you can manage on your roof or a tower. Be sure to follow the installation instructions listed in the installation manual I have linked below. Follow these directions, and you'll get more over-the-air TV reception than you ever dreamed of! LOL. Good Luck!

Thanks this is exactly what I was hoping for. Also it would appear I would not even need to purchase the VHF antenna if I was able to pickup WHIOTV out of Dayton which is CBS also. Just no Cincinnati news
from CBS correct?
Once again thanks again

Well I have installed the antenna and the 1st TV gets great reception but the 2nd TV which is about 100 ft from the splitter amplifier only receives about 1/2 the channels as the 1st TV. Will I need another amplifier or a more powerful one? The 2nd TV is about 75 ft further than the 1st TV
