best antenna for my area

Postby bayles777 on Mon Feb 23, 2009 4:01 pm

I am wanting to receive signals from stations in my green, yellow, and possibly red zones for 2 different locations . Both are rural and the zips probably encompass over 200 sq miles! I have a GPS and have gotten the coordiates for them if is helpful. The 1st is zip 70660 and the coords are :N 30Deg 32.079min and W O93 deg 26.069 min. The 2nd is : zip70665 and the coords are: N 30deg 05.794 min and W 093deg 26.069min. I'd like advice on an antenna system(s) for these locations. Thanks ,Pete B

You have stations coming at you from 3 different directions, so I suggest that you consider a rotator to capture them all. Your stations aren't really weak, but they come from all directions. You have 2 VHF stations as well as many UHF stations, so we need to use a VHF-high-band + UHF antenna to insure that you get ALL of your stations. I would use a Winegard HD-7696P mounted on your roof along with a Channel Master 9521a rotator. if you intend to use multiple TV sets , also use a Winegard HDP-269 preamplifier, which will allow you to power as many as 4 TV sets from the same antenna.
