audio clipping

Postby chsearch on Tue Aug 16, 2011 9:33 am

I've got a rca751 antenna mounted in the attic, directly attached to my tv set (vizio) - no amps or splitters. I've noticed that the audio on the FOX station is clipping with some regularity - notably worse during football broadcasts. I'm under the impression that an amp is not going to help this situation. I've tried adjusting the angle of the antenna, etc. With adjustment, I can get a signal strength between 75 and 80.
Strangely enough, the local ABC station strength is in the 40's, seems to vacillate quite a bit and that station doesn't seem to have any of the audio issues of the FOX channel.
Any ideas?
