My HOA will not allow external antenna's. How successful will an outdoor antenna installtion work inside of an attic?

I am currently using the Gray-Hoverman that I built for this page http://www.diytvantennas.com/sbgh.html and I am getting some stations from about 50 miles away. As you can see, it is in my attic. That being said, I would try building the folded dipole first, it is a very quick and easy build and does pretty well too. http://www.diytvantennas.com/dipole.html.
