I had moved the Winegard HD-7696P antenna to the living room and to the attic for testing. None of the tests give me any reception of the high end vhf channels. The antenna have been hinging in the attic. This morning, I turned on (from mute) the tuner feature on the tv set in the living room and I could see signals from channel 7, 11 and 13. But the signals are very low, from a scale of 100, it read between 5 to 15. At night, I could get as high as 28, but it is dropping in and out. The tv is connected to the GE 4 way amplifier through a 50 feet cable, and the amplier is connected to the antenna through 4 feet cable.

My question is would a better amplier give me strong signal from channel from 7, 11 and 13? If so, would you recommend me the strongest amplifier for my problem.

Thank you.

The GE amp may not be the answer, but, in any event, you need to get that antenna mounted on the roof, and get it out of the house. If you decide to use an amplifier, use a preamplifier like a Winegard HDP-269 mounted on the roof.
