Antennas help - Brewster, NY

Postby antennahelp on Sat Nov 08, 2008 12:05 pm

I'd like help in choosing an antenna to supplement, or maybe entirley replace cable TV - the only way to currently get signals . We live in Brewster, NY zip 10509 about 50 miles north of New York City. Most Tv signals will come from there, but some may come from about 50 mies away on LI to the south east, from Connecticut to the east and maybe from the North, too. Now we have a 20 year old analog Sony but will replace it with a new set before next February.

A roof top antenna would be about 25 -30 feet high. Our house is near the top of a hill. The only nearby obstructions are trees. There are distant hills.

We'd appreciate advice on choosing an antenna and if an amplifier is needed and if a rotator of some kind is practical. Thanks.
