Antenna Suggestions Please

Postby dly97 on Wed Aug 17, 2011 9:42 am

I live in Clarksville, TN. I am currently using a RCA ANT751 antenna along with a Channel Master 0068 preamp. I am currently receiving channels 5, 8, 10, 15, 21, 23, 27, 33 and 36. Channels 27, 10, 8, 15, 36 and 33 are the strongest. I have trouble at times receiving channels 5, 21 and 23. I am wanting to try a Channel Master 4228HD antenna because I heard that WTVF was going to start using channel 25 so I don't think I would need a low vhf antenna and the only high vhf channels I need are channel 8 and 10 which I now get at 92-97% strength.
Would the 4228HD work well at my location or do I need to try something else?

I emailed WTVF and they informed me they were still broadcasting on vhf 5 and low power uhf 50. So would I need to go with say, a CM 3679.

The ANT 751 just doesn't have enough gain on channel 5 to do the job. it is really a close-in suburban antenna, and low-band VHF stations are particularly tough to get. My best suggestion would be to get yourself an AntennaCraft HD850 or a Channel Master Crossfire 3679. You really shouldn't need a preamp unless you are running multiple TV sets. Good Luck...
