Antenna SUggestion

Postby Lakelover on Mon Mar 01, 2010 12:46 pm

Hello from Lake Anna, VA 23117

I am currently setting up to recieve HDTV signals, I'm not sure of the antenna I have but it is a long directional Winegaurd, I have mounted on the roof of the house on top of a 10' pole.

I ran 25' of RG to a TV and got great reception all of the charlottesville channels, but when I ran it through a splitter with about 5' of cable to the computer I lost a ton of signal to the PC the TV still seems to be fine.

Any suggestions, Below is the tuner card installed in the PC.

AVerMedia MTVHDDUWB AVerTV HD Duet, I plan to use the PC as a DVR.

Attached is the TV Signal Analysis Results

If you would like to share these results with others, this page can be referenced as:

Thank You in advance for any Help.

It sounds to me that you may have a tuner card with old firmware: the reception should match what you are getting from your TV set. I would contact card manufacturer about possible software upgrades that would help. You can double check your connections by reversing the coax cables between the TV and tuner card: if you exchange the cables, and the problem persists on the computer, then you know that the card is at issue.
