antenna replacement

Postby dcal on Mon Dec 22, 2008 2:31 pm

I am looking at Philips SDV7400K/17, SDV7700K/17 or RCA ANT3036X outdoor antenna to replace an old broken one. My question deals with the cable I have. I've noticed that most newer antennas talk about connecting coax cable. However my cable is twin lead- it is not possible to change the cable. I haven't been able to find anyone who can tell me if my cable is compatible with this or any other type or brand of antenna. I'm in the mountains of southwest Virginia in the woods on top of a hill. Most of the stations are in Roanoke or Lynchburg- 35- 60 miles away. I can get most of the Roanoke channels in HD with the old broken antenna but only analog for the Lynchburg channels, which is the greater distance. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your choices aren't good ones: try reading "Tips for getting good antenna advice' at the beginning of this forum and retstate you question. We need more info to make a good suggestion.
