I am no expert on antennas but my recent experience suggests that an omnidirectional antenna that is also internal, provides the worst reception for a given situation.

Wrapping an omnidirectional with attractive looks, bright LEDs and a remote control will not change the basic properties of the antenna. Even an amplifier won't help if the antenna is poor: it amplifies both signal and noise...

Checked your location and I am sure you can have a great reception with a simple outdoor antenna. Being that close to the towers one can often get away with an indoor as well, but even with indoors you have made one of the worst possible choices.

See this short indoor antennas thread.
