Postby kylet on Sat May 09, 2009 12:30 am

OK, here's the skinny: I want to get some over the air TV, but need all the help I can get on what I should get... Here's my info:
Address: 24347 copperhead Circle, Murrieta, CA 92562
# of TVs: 2
Tvs, Westinghouse TX-47F430S

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The LA stations lie 67 miles northwest of your home, and signals are moderate-to weak. You will definitely need an outdoor antenna aimed at Mt. Wilson in order to see those stations. After June 12, LA will have 4 VHF digital stations: KABC, KCAL. KTTV and KCOP will all return to their original channels, but will broadcast ONLY in digital, so you will need a good VHF-high-band as well as UHF antenna in order to see them. I suggest using my deep-fringe prescription: A Winegard TA-1713 VHF high-band yagi plus an AntennasDirect XG-91 mounted on the same mast, with the XG-91 mounted 4' above the YA-1713 on the mast. Combine the two antennas using a Channel Master Titan 7777 preamplifier, which has separate VHF and UHF inputs, and tin the coaxial cable down to a central location that has AC power available. Plug in the power supply to the preamplifier at that location, and mount and connect a 2 way high-quality 1 gHz or better splitter after the power supply then run coaxial cable to each TV in your house. This antenna system is the most economical system for your location, and will provide you with solid reception of all your LA stations.
