Antenna help

Postby nulldev06 on Sun Jan 04, 2009 8:41 pm

Zip code 49508

I currently have a Terk HDTVo pointed roughly 300 degrees(NW). I have problems getting stations to the south east especially channel 17 to stay clear. Do you think adjusting the antenna would help or should I buy a new antenna?

I would like the following channels clear: 3, 8, 13, 17, 35

I have 3 tv's which 2 are HD tuners and the other is a DTV tuner.

Your locat TV station's transmitters are scattered in different directions, so reaiming your antenna to improve one station is likely to cause problems with other stations. The HDTVo antenna is really inadaquate for your needs: you should have an all-channel antenna on a rotator and an amplifier if you want reliable TV on all your locak channels. Try using a Winegard HD-7696P VHF-high-band +UHF antenna mounted on your roof with a Channel Master 9521a rotator, and a Winegard HDP-269 preamplifiier. That combination will open up a lot more viewing possibilities to you, and insure that you can zero-in on the stations that interest you.

Is there a 2 antenna solution that would work so I don't have to deal with a rotator. A rotator wouldn't work to well with a DVR.

You are right about the DVR...but anything that I suggest for a two-antenna solution is going to be a kludge that might, or might not work....
