Antenna for Montreal Canada?

Hi there!

I'm located in Montreal Canada (postal code H1W 2C3) and I'm really sick of Cable TV, Bell's Fibe TV, and all the crap of service providers offers for about 60$ per months.

I been Cable free for 3 years now, and my 42" LCD TV has only been used for Gaming on consoles and DVDs... but I miss TV channels... I checked with the TV if I picked anything up (I dont have an antenna) and I didn't picked ANYTHING (well only one channel and it's snowy as Antarctica during a blizzard)

So Now I want to check out Antennas, I heard some people are getting HD Channels with those so I'm interested

I checked some Antennas and I'm not sure about the whole deal... some ppl say its incredible, some others says its shit... I really dunno

Ok So I figured I need an INDOOR antenna.... I'm located on the first floor of an apartment Building, I have no balcony and no access to the backyard or roof of the building... Best I can do is place the antenna outside my window if it's really small, otherwise I'd decapitate people walking on the sidewalk... or anyone could just vandalize or tear it off since it would be at the height of anyones head. So... Indoor antenna.

There's a window Right Next to the TV (1 feet) I dunno if it changes anything, maybe it would capture signals better... My TV is a 42" Viewsonic 4285P HDTV... I checked and it's ATSC and QAW compatible.

Now I'm checking antennas and I dunno which one to pick up... I'm checking out maybe Winegard SS-3000 HDTV and the Winegard FreeVision FV-30BB HDTV Antennas.

I dunno if there's other good indoors Antennas, better signal thinngy... or even a Jerrold Cable Descramble haha, really I dunno... anyone can help out?
