Antenna Connection

Postby TimLS1981 on Thu Sep 08, 2011 5:46 pm

Planning to cancel service with local cable company. I paid to have house wired for cable when it was built. Is there any reason I can't connect to my home where the cable company was connected. If I can, will I need a signal booster besides the one I get with my antenna? I am purchasing a TERK FDTVO Omni Directional Amplified Flat Outdoor HDTV Antenna and live with 20 miles of the stations I want to receive, and have clear line of sight to the transmitters. I live in 78665 zip code. Thanks for any suggestions,

please-post-your-tvfool-com-results-when-posting-questions-t649.html

Please don't buy anything until you give us your information requested: The Terk antenna is unlikely to do what you expect it to do.

After checking the sight recommended, the results show that I can use a set top antenna for the stations I want to pull in. My concern is still can I connect an external antenna to my home cables and will I need a signal booster to get the signal through about 50 ft (outside and inside combined. I am planning on connect 2 TV's to the cable system ( 1 HDTV Plasma, 1 CRT).

Sorry, I can't recommend using a pair of rabbit rears for what you propose.
