Antenna Choice

Postby mnman on Fri Jul 15, 2011 11:30 am

I need help! I am moving to St. peter 56082, mn and want to ditch my cable bill. I am not sure if I need UHF and VHF or just VHF. I checked the geolocator and think i just need UHF. Could someone please help me figuer out what band covers what channels. Any recomendation of antennas would also be appreciated. Thanks

Your TV stations are translators stations of the Minneapolis-St. Paul stations, and are about 33 miles from your location at a compass heading of roughly 225 degrees. I would suggest a fringe-area UHF antenna like an AntennasDirect XG-91 or a Channel Master 4228HD aimed in that direction, all mounted on the roof. Consider using a preamplifier if you plan to run more than 2 TV sets from the antenna.
