analog to digital in remote area

Postby dlrg on Sun Mar 08, 2009 10:16 am

My son is unable to receive digital signals in Maine. He is somewhat in a hollow but used to receive analog service. He says analog waves bend and digital do not and that even though he has a converter box and antenna he will not be able to and has not been able to receive any signal. Is there any solution. He cannot afford cable or dish, and is very unhappy that he cannot get tv any longer.

Not true. There is no difference between analog and digital. VHF waves, however, do bend more than UHF, so that VHF transmission is more robust to no-line-of-sight reception.

I suggest to post more details in the antenna forum and we'll check your location and recommend an antenna.
