| Summary: Unit operated reliably on 2 occasions then crashed | ||
| I purchased 2 of the units early on in the program for use in our motor home which has analog sets that are too new to replace. I hooked them up and tried them immediately then put them away untill the mandated switch to digital. Last month we took a trip to a State Park outside a digital viewing area but within range of Canadian analog stations. They worked fine on analog passthrough but when I tried to switch back to digital the set would not switch. I talked to the retailer where I purchased them and learned that the problem was a common one with the early Philcos and to contact the manufacturer. I did and learned that since the unit is over a year old they will not stand behind it. One is still functioning but not for long I suspect. I will have to replace both but it will not be with a Funai product,nor will I ever consider a product manufactured or distributed through them. A VERY dissatisfied customer | ||

| OK... I'll skip the bull and get right to it... This is by far the best box I've purchased (aside the Tivax STB-T8).
After purchasing 2 Access HD converter boxes as well as the elaborate Terk HD amplified antenna I was still struggling for a signal in a suburb of Detroit (not suppose to happen). I decided to spend a couple extra bucks on a Philco TB100HH9 and a Tivax STB-T8. Even after using a plain wire for an antenna I had a better signal then the Access HD box and the Terk antenna... I suppose I would give the Tivax STB-T8 and the Philco TB100HH9 a big thumbs up... I'm ready to throw the Access HD boxes in the trash! It's not supposed to be about the "signal" but that seems to be the case. |

| Summary: It does the job | ||
| The only controls are on the remote; the overall look and feel is rather cheap. But, I have no others to compare, and it does the job. | ||

| Summary: mostly junk | ||
| I just finished setting up my Philco TB100HH9 Digital to Analog TV Converter Box and it is a piece of junk: the remote is terrible, there are 0 buttons on the box so you must use the remote for everything, there is a long pause changing channels, and the user interface of the box is really bad for setup. It gets two stars because it can get dtv channels, so in a pinch you can use it. I set up two dtv tuner boxes for my grandma that she got at Radioshack, and they were much better. In short, I think I wasted my money and coupon. | ||
