Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate product rankings. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each product. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.
We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.
Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

| Summary: Unit operated reliably on 2 occasions then crashed |
| I purchased 2 of the units early on in the program for use in our motor home which has analog sets that are too new to replace. I hooked them up and tried them immediately then put them away untill the mandated switch to digital. Last month we took a trip to a State Park outside a digital viewing area but within range of Canadian analog stations. They worked fine on analog passthrough but when I tried to switch back to digital the set would not switch. I talked to the retailer where I purchased them and learned that the problem was a common one with the early Philcos and to contact the manufacturer. I did and learned that since the unit is over a year old they will not stand behind it. One is still functioning but not for long I suspect. I will have to replace both but it will not be with a Funai product, nor will I ever consider a product manufactured or distributed through them.
A VERY dissatisfied customer |

| Summary: TIVO compatible? |
| We have a Series 2 TIVO that we are told will not accept HD signals from our cable provider after Feb 2009. TIVO customer service told us that by using a digital to analog converter, we can continue to use all the functions built into the TIVO. Has anyone reading this experienced positive results by connecting the two boxes in series with a TV? |

| Summary: Good Product |
| I choose this particular product based on the reviews. Boxes that were a little cheaper were not rated as highly. It was a reasonable price after the government coupon. This converter box is very easy to set up. The picture is clearer than when I was viewing the picture in analog. You need to have a good antenna to use with it though so that the digital picture can come through strong. I would recommend it. |
