Summary: Who needs cable?
We live in an area where there isn't any cable and the antenna reception is poor. We could only get two channels. When everything went digital, we got an EDTV, but it did not have the digital tuner. So we decided to try the Lasonic as a tuner. We now get 26 channels. A few are intermittant, but the main ones are great and the definition is excellent. We recommend this unit.

Even with antenna and in city signal is very bad or no signal in some channels. shop around for better one.

Summary: More channels now
After scanning the channels, I can view/hear more now than before I had the converter box. I use rabbit ears on a TV we keep upstairs. I do live in the city, so that might be why my reception is so good. I watched a YouTube video to figure out how to hook up one DVD/VCR player and one DVD player with the converter box. Check out if you need help: nykwynes on May 26, 2008. Whenever a channel is pausing/scrambling, I rescan or readjust the rabbit ears (same as before the box). The remote is really small, and I have to turn the converter box on every time to watch TV (it doesn't stay on).

Easy to install and working very well. I may need to purchase another one for our guest bedroom and won't hesitate to do so.
