| This product is crap. I bought 2 of them, with the Gov. coupon, to findout I had to buy digital antennas for them both. I bought a cheap $15 dig. antenna for my bedroom and $55 digital philips antenna for the main livingroom.
*The main livingroom with the $55 antenna gets 2 channels clear: the Spanish and Christian channels, but no local - Seattle channels. *My bedroom, with the cheap antenna, gets all the other channels but not the Fox channel-13, which I watch the most of, comedies and such. So, with all of this, I've pretty much stopped watching tv with these improvements. I hardly go into the main livingroom now and pretty much watch all my tv shows over the internet via amazon.com, hulu, youtube, archive.org or other video/tvOnDemand websites. The converter box does not have a button to let you move through the channels; only the cheap remote control will allow you to change channels and it is very slow and I find myself pushing buttons 2-3 times to move around stations. |

| I just got the Lasonic ATSC (LTA-260)Digital to Analog Converter today and found that its ok. First of all, if you are planning on purchasing this as opposed to buying a new flat screen TV, then you MUST have the RCA cables. This was not mentioned on the description during my research prior to my decision to purchasing this item. SO I went out and bought the RCA cables, and still missing some channels that I was originally watching even without the converter. Although the picture clarity is better, the channels that I am dedicated to is missing.
I've read reviews on several converter boxes on the government website [...] and researched for days...and found that altough many places accept the government coupon [...], they are still charging lots for digital converter boxes. The Tivax STB-T8 was voted the BEST out of all the other converter boxes, but is in backorder until April this year. |

| The converter is very easy to use and pulls in stations very well. The remote is sized for a small hand and doesn't have a full lineup of buttons. It controlls the basics very well, though. The signal meter is very helpfull in isolating certain signals.
I enjoy the extra channels that come with the digital television. The option of different screen sizes if also very nice. Makes my older 27" set look sharp as a razor. The size of the converter box is tiny. Too bad all electronics are not so small. It is just a little bigger than a mans wallet. I have not used anyother converters to this point. This one was easy to figure out and get set up. |
