| After setting up the digital converter box I only received one channel via the box. I took the box to a family member's and the box also brought in only one channel. I am not using this box until I have to in February, 2009 & then I will most likely be forced to purchase cable or enjoy the same one channel on my television. | ||

| I took the unit out of the box, plugged it in, connected the RF cables to a simple set top loop antenna, and to the TV set, did a channel scan and found 19 channels. The ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS local Seattle stations all registered 100% on both signal strength and signal quality. The performance was far better than the previous analog reception. The lack of an analog pass-through function was not an issue as all of our major local stations now have gone digital but have retained analog until the June cut-off date.
The performance to date has been outstanding. The reliability remains to be seen but if it continues to perform as it has so far, I consider it a bargain. As an aside, thinking I might somehow need an analog pass-through function, I also ordered a Tivax STB-T8 (which has analog p/t) with my second coupon. The first unit was defective and the one sent to replace it performed poorly so I asked for a refund which Amazon quickly sent. The only bad taste (other than the Tivax performance) was the fact that Amazon "ate" my second coupon, i.e., they refunded the difference but not the $40 value of the coupon. Since I am happy with the Lasonic unit, I don't really need another unit but I'm left wondering if Amazon pocketed the $40 value of my coupon. |

| After I installed it the converter worked very well with an older set. The range of the remote is not as wide as many other remotes, but it is fine it you point it at the converter directly. It would have helped if the coax cable were a little longer. | ||
