Summary: Best one for sure
Not only does it perform well, it offers more features than other brands. Item: The DC power supply appears to be "twice converted", to save more energy and reduce heat build-up. PCs (home computers) change 60 Hz 120-volts to DC, then converts it to 33,000 Hz AC again, and then back to DC a second time. Results: Much smaller parts, and lot less power consumption. Techies know that's quite an invention done back in about 1980.

Insignia DXA1 Review #2
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: JRB Date: 2009-07-10
Summary: Satisfied, Good Features
Used this box for over a year. Only stopped using it because we bought a new TV that has a digital HD tuner built in. Sets up easily and the remote works well (even powers on/off the TV). Signal feature is handy- one button access. The feature I miss the most is the channel guide that shows what program is showing on all (most) channels. Our new TV doesn\t do that! Picture quality was always excellent and only poor if reception was bad. Would be nice if the remote integrated more with the TV. All in all quite happy with this converter.

Rating: 4 (good) Nickname: kuhjon Date: 2009-04-14
Summary: Perfect for my needs
Picked this up at my local big box store with the yellow sign after reading lots of positive reviews for this model (and it's twin the Zenith/LG DTT901). I was looking to drop my bare-bones Comcast cable plan and switch to antenna based tv watching on my old-ish non-digital tv. So far so good. When paired with the extremely basic RCA Ant111 I get about 12 crystal clear channels (some duplicates of course). Setup was a breeze, the menu has plenty of useful features including a nice feature so that if you tweaked your antenna or got a new one you can scan for new channels while still holding onto the ones you've already found. There is also a signal strength function that is easily accessible with the remote that made it easy for me to fine tune a couple pesky channels that weren't coming in great at first. And the remote itself works great for me. The buttons aren't tiny, it controls my tv volume, can access the main menu, a display mode to see a synopsis of what you're watching, and a guide mode to view what is coming up next on each channel.
After subtracting my converter coupon it only cost me twenty bucks and I couldn't be more pleased.

Summary: Easy set up.
Bought this unit last week. Took about 5 minutes to wire up, and program. Pictures look good. I like the signal strength monitor that is used to check antenna adjustments. Very nice product for analog tv sets.
