Lately we have been dealing with an increasing number of attempts to manipulate product rankings. Note: each person is allowed to post one and only one review for each product. Exceptions can be made only under special circumstances when the reviewer feels that his earlier review must be corrected.

We have a sophisticated manipulation detection system in place and we will not tolerate any attempt to game the system and mislead consumers and our visitors. We reserve the right to delete any review that we feel is misleading or inappropriate and do that at our sole discretion. Thanks for understanding.

Also, from now on we require all reviews to be at least 100 words long. Short reviews, such as "a piece of junk" or "works as advertised" are not very helpful. Consider specifying more details. Elaborate on your location, the equipment you are using, reception quality of specific channels in your area. Check the word counter at the bottom when writing.

Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: Merl Q Date: 2009-09-08
Summary: Only one that works where I live.
This is the ideal converter box for areas with signal problems.I live 20 miles from the towers in an area with lots of tall trees.I am using a 2 bay UHF antenna indoors. The picture using S-video is superb, far superior to other ones I tried.Save yourself a lot of headaches by spending a few extra $$ for this quality product.I tried several converters from different manufactures but the CM-7000 was the only one that locked on all the channels without the picture cutting in and out.The remote is very sturdy and well made and it uses Pioneer brand coding for easy programing to universal remotes.

Summary: The Best
Weve been using the Channel Master CM-7000 for about 10 months and couldnt be happier. We live about 65 miles from Chicago, 85 miles from Champaign, and about 80 miles from South Bend. We get stations from all of these towns and more. Counting sub-stations we have scanned in 95 channels. Some of the weaker distant stations we can view only at night but we still have almost as many channels to choose from as we did using satellite (I dont count infomercial only channels). It also has a great picture and superb sound. Well worth the little extra $$.

Summary: best I know of
I've had this model for three months now and its better then any other tuner I have. It picks up more stations and has the features I would hope for: signal strength meter, add channel scan for new antenna position and the show guide are the ones I use the most. Well worth the $30 I spent for it and if I buy another will be the one I get.

ChannelMaster CM7000 Review #3
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2009-07-06
Summary: The best converter box I\ve tried.
I live in the worst spot for tv reception. I\m behind a hill with trees. The other converter boxes I\ve tried are the Zenith DTT900 and the Insigna ns-dxa1. Both had picture cut out when the wind picked up and reception varied with the weather changes. The Channel Master cm 7000 not only gets more channels it also keeps a picture during windy days. I got a Antennas Direct Clearstreem 4 antenna,Winegard preamp,RG11 coax and the Channel Master cm 7000. I get all the Portland OR. channels but one, and that\s because the Antennas Direct Clearstreem 4 can only pick up uhf and the very highest vhf channels. With a good vhf antenna I\m sure I can get all channels. The biggest improvement I had was when I hooked up the Channel Master converter box.

ChannelMaster CM7000 Review #4
Rating: 5 (excellent) Nickname: anonymous Date: 2009-04-05
Summary: Best Picture Quality I've Seen
Pros: This is the best Digital to Analog Converter Box I've seen. I could see why the Leading Consumer Testing Agency rated this the "best picture quality". It is the only one that has a S-Video cable adapter. It has a signal strength meter for every channel. The converter box materialis made of metal (not plastic) and can be stacked underneath lightweight objects as long as you don't cover any air holes it will not overheat. For the energy saving consumers this converter box also has a feature that automatically turns off the box for you for a selected amount of time. The box features also have parental controls and a easy to use channel updater. Cons: The coverter box does not a smart antenna port, and analog pass through. This box has extremely small closed captioning text size but can be replaced by the tv menu's closed captioning menu. The box does not come with A/V cables. Bottom Line: The box is $69.99 and is the only box with a S-Video Cable Port. With the best picture quality rated of 2008.
