Sylvania LC195SL8 19-Inch 720p LCD HD

I would not recommend the Sylvania LC195SL8 for someone looking for a top-of-the-line model, but it is a great set for anyone looking for an economical model. It’s smaller size and affordable price makes it ideal for small rooms that aren’t used purely for entertainment such as a bathroom or smaller bedroom.

It has a 1440 x 900 resolution and a 3D comb filter that gives it a good quality picture. It does not come with HDMI, but it does have video and audio coax cables to hook up gaming and video systems. I like the fact that it will resize standard channels automatically to fit your TV.

The picture quality can be adjusted with its basic settings that include tint, brightness, color, contrast, and sharpness. As for the sound quality, the speakers are average, but I think it’s perfectly acceptable especially when you consider the size and price point of the Sylvania LC195SL8. It has only standard stereo sound, but it is clear.

The remote itself is a little small and can be uncomfortable to use if you have bad eyesight or larger fingers. I find the onscreen menus are on the small side as well. When you consider the price and the fact that most people use a universal remote, neither of these points are much of an issue. Overall, I find it works well with gaming systems as well as movies and think it is great for a dorm room or other small space.
