Samsung LN46A750 46-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color
September 22, 2008 – 4:55 pm,I found the Samsung LN46A750 to really dominate its space with a reasonable quality. The RED Touch of Color feature is more a matter of personal taste than anything else. This model does have a couple of minor design flaws that you should be aware of, but overall, it is a really great HDTV.
With most HDTV’s, analog television channels are terrible and often look terribly fuzzy. I found the Samsung LN46A750 still leaves these channels looking fuzzier than the HD channels, but it does a great job at dealing with this. The picture quality itself is fantastic and looks very natural right at the factory settings. Its 50 000:1 is a definite plus. If you are used to watching HDTVs, you can tweak them easily. I did find this to be unnecessary.
When comparing the different series, I found that this model has a better refresher rate and response time than the 550 model that makes it well worth the extra cost. I noticed very little LCD motion blur that is common with these TV sets. It also has the DNLA that gives it a real edge over other models and brands. This combined with the wireless and wired Ethernet makes using your PC with the computer a breeze.
I found the PIP feature and channel descriptions to be rather quite limited. There is no way to edit or add to the descriptions, so what you see is what you get. The PIP is difficult to use and forces you to use the built in tuner. Finally, this model needs a turntable since the base is fixed. These are not serious issues, but definitely something to be aware of. Overall, it is one of the better models and is at the top of the list for picture quality.
