Wrinkles In High Def

High definition TV allows us to get up close and personal with what’s on the screen. This allows for a better experience, and a TV viewer who thinks HD is a bad invention is almost impossible to come by. But what about the actors?

If you’re blessed with perfect skin, you’ve got a lot to be happy about, but I bet if I took a magnifying glass to that perfect skin I’d be able to see little blemishes that I wouldn’t be able to see if I were talking to you across a table. You’ve therefore got good reason to hope that no one wants to closely examine you with a magnifying glass.

However, if you’re in the ‘unfortunate’ career of acting, this is now basically what’s going to be happening to you from now on every time you go in front of the cameras.

Old style cameras that worked on good old film maybe weren’t as sharp as the new models, but many people argue that’s a good thing. Someone who looks incredibly attractive on film may come across like some kind of ogre in HD, as the cameras pick up every little imperfection.

But there is a solution; HD make-up of course. Make-up is the saviour of less than perfect actors, and HD make-up does the same for them in HD, filling in and covering up blemishes so that even the beady eyes of HD viewers can’t see what’s lurking on their skin. It does somewhat defy the purpose of HD though, if everything put in front of an HD lens is blurred into submission.

And if you want to look not just like an actor, but an HD actor, you can now buy HD make-up in the shops, by brands like Dior, Smashbox and Cargo. So you can now spend even more money on cosmetics, and look perfect in HD.
