Dallas Cowboys Stadium: Home of the World’s Largest HDTV
June 20, 2008 – 11:23 am,The Dallas Cowboys team will soon be able to boast that it has the largest HDTV in the world. The new television, which will measure a whopping 160 feet by 70 feet, will be installed in the team’s new stadium.
Currently, the largest HDTV can be found at the Tokyo Racecourse. This television measures 8,066 square feet while the Cowboys’ television measures a total of 11,000 square feet and will cost $35 million to complete. Luckily, the new stadium will have a retractable roof, which will protect the television from the sun and rain. By pulling the roof back, however, fans can still go to the game and feel like they are outside. In the even of bad weather, on the other hand, the climate controlled stadium will remain quite pleasant when the roof is in place.
Mitsubishi Electric is providing the two gigantic monitors that will be part of the massive screen. With the help of the monitors and screen and two monitors, fans will be able to see the game as well as what is going on behind the scenes. Of course, the HDTV will also help make money for the Cowboys, as it will be able to display some pretty impressive advertisements.
